This scan is from when we had the "nuchal translucency screen," a measurement done of the baby's neck fold to assess risk factor for Down's Syndrome. Our risk turned out to very low, which was reassuring! Here you can see a foreshortened view of his feet (in center of black amniotic fluid area), one foot wrapped over the other, and tiny toes visible.
During this same scan, Karen (the ultrasound technician), Mike and Nommi all clearly saw the "5th bud" Mike thought he saw 4 weeks prior... there was no doubt in the room - he's a boy!
